Alchemy is one of the primary professions in WoW Classic. As an alchemist, you can create elixirs and potions, which can be very useful when leveling or later in raids. To make the potions you need herbs, among other things, which is why the combination with Herbalism is ideal for Alchemy.

What’s Special About Alchemy in WoW SoD Phase 2?

The Season of Discovery (SoD for short) is the second season in WoW Classic. WoW Classic: SoD is divided into several phases. Phase 2 will start on February 8, 2024.

In Phase 2 the maximum character level is 40. The level requirement for Artisan has been increased to level 41 (normally level 35) for all professions in SoD. This information can already be found in the Trainer menus for gathering professions in SoD.

This means that in Phase 2 the maximum Alchemy skill level is 225 (Expert). In Phase 2 it will therefore not be possible to bring Alchemy to the maximum skill level of 300.

Which Alchemy Recipes Are Important in SoD Phase 2?

Due to the level restrictions, not all Alchemy recipes can be crafted in SoD Phase 2. In the following list, you will the most important recipes that will become available in SoD Phase 2. The list also includes recipes that were already available in Phase 1 but are still used in Phase 2.

Important Alchemy recipes in SoD Phase 2

* Whether Fire Protection Potion Fire Protection Potion or Nature Protection Potion Nature Protection Potion are important in Phase 2 depends on how the Gnomeregan Raid is designed in Phase 2. Since protection against shadow damage is important in the BFD raid, it could be that Blizzard follows a similar concept in Gnomeregan. Then, for example, protection against fire damage or nature damage could be important.

Which Alchemy Recipes Are New in SoD Phase 2?

For SoD Phase 2, the following new Alchemy recipes have already been officially announced or discovered via data mining:

Please note that only Alchemy recipes that are confirmed will safely make it into P2. Datamined recipes could also come in a later phase or not at all.

Like in Phase 1, there will be an epic quest chain to unlock the new recipes in Phase 2. Details regarding the quest chain haven’t been announced yet. To craft the new recipes, new materials are needed. A lot of them will be used across different professions.

What’s Special About Alchemy in WoW SoD Phase 1?

SoD Phase 1 started on November 30, 2023. In phase 1 the maximum level is 25. For SoD Phase 1, the level requirement for Alchemy Expert has been increased to level 26 (normally level 20). This means that in phase 1 the max Alchemy skill level is 150 (Journeyman). In Phase 1 it is therefore not possible to bring Alchemy to the maximum skill level of 300.

Which Alchemy Recipes are New in SoD Phase 1?

In WoW Classic: SoD Phase 1, the Alchemy profession received the new recipe for Elixir of Coalesced Regret Elixir of Coalesced Regret. To craft the elixir you need 5x Stranglekelp Stranglekelp, 1x Leaded Vial Leaded Vial, 5x Grave Moss Grave Moss, and 1x Soul Dust Soul Dust.

How to Level Alchemy Profitably in SoD Phase 1?

The best way to level Alchemy profitably in SoD is to craft items that are needed to turn Waylaid Supplies into Supply Shipment Supply Shipment. To level Alchemy this way, you mainly craft the items needed to complete Waylaid Supplies in SoD. To do so you buy the materials needed in the auction house, craft the items, and then sell them with profit in the auction house.

The Alchemy items needed to complete Waylaid Supplies are the following:

Where to Learn Alchemy in WoW Classic?

You can learn Alchemy in WoW Classic from Alchemy trainers, who you can find in the capitals, among other places. Once you have reached at least level 5, you can, for example, go to one of the following Alchemy trainers to learn the profession:

How to Level Alchemy in WoW Classic?

As with all professions in WoW Classic, the same applies to Alchemy: You receive skill points by carrying out a certain activity (e.g. crafting an item, etc.). The frequency with which you receive a skill point depends on your current skill level. Please note the following color code:

Minimum Required Materials to Level Alchemy (1-300)

To get Alchemy to 300 you will need at least the following materials. The exact number depends heavily on your luck when collecting skill points (see information above), which is why it is difficult to give precise information.

You can buy vials from Alchemy vendors. You already produce the healing potions required for the first two levels when leveling, which is why they are not listed separately in the list above.

Alchemy in WoW Classic is leveled from 1-75 (Apprentice), from 75-150 (Journeyman), from 150-225 (Expert) and 225-300 (Artisan).
