D&B Supply held a Grand Opening ceremony for their new flagship store in Caldwell.

The western supply store recently moved out of its original location in Caldwell, to the new facility, just a couple miles away.

D&B Supply's new flagship store boasts more than 98,000 square feet of store space, stretching over a 13.4-acre property. Of the store's several locations throughout Idaho and Oregon, the new Caldwell facility is the largest by a substantial margin.

The scale of the operation is hard to visualize, but Mark Schmitt, President of D&B Supply, gave an example of the store's great size. He said the clothing section at the new store is around the same size as the entire old store.

While the store opened last month, the Grand Opening took place Thursday, March 30 at noon. More than 100 people gathered for the opening ceremony which included Caldwell's Chamber of Commerce and a visit from Caldwell PD, along with several Treasure Valley businesses.

Schmitt spoke proudly about the store, emphasizing that it was important to have the flagship location in Caldwell.

"It's paramount to me and to my team to be able to do and put the best of what we have, here where we (D&B Supply) were born and raised," Schmitt said. "This, along with the new distribution center that we're building right behind here, represents investments in the community that raised us, and the customers that trust and continue to come back and shop with us. So, I owe it to the community, I owe it to the customer to give them the best of what we have."

Hundreds of people were inside the store around the time of the Grand Opening, and thousands are expected to visit over the weekend. The Grand Opening runs from Thursday, March 30, to Saturday, April 1. Several departments have items discounted; that flyer can be found here.

D&B Supply's Caldwell store is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week except Sunday. It will be open Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The store is located 620 Smeed Parkway, just off I-84's Westbound Exit 29, and US 20/26.
